The Vavengers is at the UN General Assembly 79th Session & Summit of the Future

This September, more than 100 world leaders, thousands of diplomats, and advocates including The Vavengers came together to join the 79th United Nations General Assembly debate. The summit is seeing statements delivered to tackle global challenges centered around 21st-century world issues.

The theme for the general debate of the 79th session of the General Assembly is "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development, and human dignity for present and future generations".

It’s vital for humanitarian advocates to occupy these spaces as ending Gender-Based Violence requires everyone’s attention and we are here to achieve that. We will continue our work and keep occupying spaces where decision-making happens to represent our communities until Violence Against Women and Girls is eradicated.

Summit of the Future Outcome Document

World leaders adopt a Pact for the Future that includes a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations. The Pact covers a broad range of themes including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, digital cooperation, human rights, gender, youth and future generations, and the transformation of global governance.
